Fortunately, the “immigration ban” by Donald Trump is very much limited in scope.  Some people wishing to gain entry to the US on a Green Card may face delays of 60 days.

It seems especially after the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic and the needs of the NHS, there will have to be a major review of the new UK visa points system.  Many lower skilled key workers that are needed now and in the future will not be able to come under the new UK point

Latest Update: All health care workers on list in all visa categories included

UK visas at the Home Office has confirmed on 29 April 2020 that the free one year extension covers all visa holders on the list of front line health care workers, whose visa is due to expire by 1 October.  Not just Tier 2 visa holders and not just NHS health care workers.

Applications can be made under the coronavirus furlough scheme from Monday 20 April as announced by Rishi Sunak, Chancellor of the Exchequer whose grandparents were born in Punjab, India.  The right-wing Boris Johnson UK Conservative Government is handing out enormous State subsidies to keep businesses afloat.

The current coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic has caused delays in US visa processing for migrants around the World.  If there is enough availability of coronavirus testing then Governors are more likely to “reopen” their States, and US visa processing will return to normal more quickly.
