Immigration news

Sanwar Ali comment:

The Government of Prime Minister Boris Johnson has turned out to be more liberal on UK visa policy, at least in some ways.  The previous Tier 1 Post Study work visa category, which is similar to the new UK post study work visa scheme, was abolished in April 2012.  Tier 4 visa students should be able to qualify under the new scheme from some time next year.

Sanwar Ali comment:

Where will this all end?  It must already be the case that US visa applicants and journalists have already started to self censor themselves. Surely in the “Free World” we have the freedom to criticize and condemn Governments and Government Agencies.  We should not be refused a visa because we disagree with what the Government has to say.

Sanwar Ali comment:

The UK Innovator and Start-Up visa is so difficult to come under that hardly anyone seems to be able to meet the requirements.  It seems so far that very few applications have been granted.  Will this change in future?   The system needs to be made much easier and the number of places available to migrants substantially increased.  There should be an easy system for migrants, to be able to find out if they are likely to be able to meet the requirements for an endorsing body.

Sanwar Ali comment:

There are also allegations of widespread institutional racism at the UK visa regulator which is sponsored by the Home Office, with another race discrimination claim expected at the Employment Tribunal.  Previously, there was criticism by an Employment Tribunal Judge of discriminatory practices.  No apologies have been made, no compensation and as far as we know no investigation of misconduct.  Just denials.

Sanwar Ali comment:

Employers with a Tier 2 Sponsor Licence already have great difficulty complying with all the complicated and confusing requirements required of them by UK visa and Immigration requirements.  Failure to comply with these new requirements is yet something else that the Home Office can use as an excuse to suspend or revoke a Tier 2 Sponsor Licence.  Employers are left in a precarious situation as UK visa at the Home Office will find it even easier to take away their Sponsor Licence.&nb

The minimum investment amount for the US EB5 Green Card will almost double from $500,000 to $900,000 for areas of higher unemployment called Targeted Employment Area TEA, which is by far the most popular for investors.  In other areas not covered by TEA the amount will increase from $1 million to $1.8 million.
