The UK also advised their citizens not to travel to the US it seems in retaliation.  Matt Hancock wrote in The Sunday Telegraph, that coronavirus was "the biggest public health emergency in a generation."   Public health experts have suggested that once a disease has been circulating in a community travel bans make little difference.  Perhaps these travel bans by the US

UK visa fees are already very high.  This huge increase in the immigration health surcharge will make it even more unaffordable for migrants.  After the end of the Brexit transitional period more will need to be done to attract migrants.  Instead, newly arriving EU and EEA migrants after the transitional period will also have to come under the UK visa system, and so will presumably have to pay high visa fees and the Immigration Health Surcharge.&

Access to the E3 visa scheme will be of great benefit to Irish citizens.  Another visa that is similar in many ways is the H1B visa.  However, the H1B visa is difficult to obtain for most employers and employees.

The Tier 1 Investor visa will only attract a limited number of people.  Not many people have £2 million pounds to invest.  If the UK is serious about attracting more entrepreneurs there needs to be a new scheme that facilitates this at a lower cost.

It seems that some of the time the Trump administration wants to pretend that Coronavirus does not exist.   Does Trump think that Coronavirus makes him look bad.  Trump US visa policies did not keep out Covid-19.  Trump even commented that people are staying in the US and spending money in the US thanks to the Coronavirus.

The UK Global Talent visa is very similar to the previous Tier 1 Exceptional Talent visa.  Therefore it suffers from similar faults to the previous scheme.  Very few people qualify for the Global Talent visa scheme and so it will not be enough to deal with skills shortages, especially after the Brexit transitional period.  Removing the cap on the number of
