In the US, no more H-1B visas are available for the upcoming fiscal year. The fiscal year 2007 begins on October first, 2006 for anyone granted an H-1B visa this year. The full quota of 66,000 applications has been met and the US will not accept any submitted after May 26th. Applications for the fiscal year 2008 begin on April 1st of 2007.

Current reforms for UK immigration are progressing. Several target dates are being reached in the coming week, with several more during the remainder of the summer. 

New versions of the HSMP application form and guidance notes are available and should be used on or after 19 June.

Updates to numerous immigration and visa forms in the UK take effect 

Please note that as of June 19, a large number of application forms related to UK visas and work permits have been updated. For posts for postgraduate doctors and dentists starting on or after 19 June 2006 you will need to use the new PD1 work permit form.
