Former Trump aide, Stephen Miller, who was instrumental in implementing the previous administration’s hardline US immigration policies, has blasted Joe Biden’s approach to immigration. Miller described Biden’s US immigration policy as ‘immoral and reckless’ during a rent interview.

 

According to Miller, the best measure of a country’s freedom is whether people want to leave or come, he told political talk show Life, Liberty and Levin. Host Mark Levin said to Miller: “Day in, day out we hear that America is systematically racist.” 

Former Olympian and Kardashian family reality TV star, Caitlyn Jenner, who is running to replace Gavin Newsom in the recall election for California governor, has outlined her US immigration plans and stated that she is ‘all for Trump’s wall’. The transgender icon wants to continue Trump’s legacy of building the wall along the US-Mexico border.

 

In an interview with Fox News, Jenner said: “I am all for the wall. We can’t have a state, we can’t have a country, without a secure wall.”

The United Nations (UN) has warned that Priti Patel’s ‘New Plan for UK Immigration’, formally announced as part of the Queen’s Speech on 11 May, will ‘damage lives’ and ‘undermine international’ co-operation in the latest criticism of the Home Secretary’s proposals. 

 

The UN’s refugee agency said it has “deep concerns” about a two-tier approach to asylum, describing it as “discriminatory”.

A United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) office in Orlando, Florida was the scene of a deadly shooting on May 10. According to some witnesses and Orlando Police, a man reportedly walked up to another man entering the US immigration building and opened fire, killing the man. The gunman has been remanded in custody.

 

However, other witnesses report that the gunman opened fire from a car before speeding off.

Ice cream maker, Ben & Jerry’s, has branded UK immigration policy ‘a nightmare’. The company has made it a feature of their brand to ‘help protect and progress the rights of those looking for a safe place to call home. However, some political commentators and social media users have said that the US ice cream makers should ‘stay out of UK politics’.
