Following a US Supreme Court ruling to make abortion illegal in America, overturning Roe vs Wade, thousands of people across the UK have signed a petition calling for emergency UK visas for women seeking an abortion in Britain. The recent Supreme Court ruling is expected to result in abortion bans in approximately half of American states.

 

The US is reportedly on track to welcome 100,000 Ukrainian refugees, fleeing the conflict with Russia, this summer. According to official US immigration figures, 71,000 Ukrainians have already entered the US since March, meaning Biden’s pledge to receive 100,000 refugees from Ukraine is on course.

 

Currently, 15,000 have been welcomed into the US after being approved for sponsorship through the ‘Uniting for Ukraine’ program, according to data released by the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Despite hopes that Israel would be welcomed into the US Visa Waiver Program (VWP) by mid-2022, the Middle Eastern nation’s election could further delay its acceptance into the scheme. Legislation in Israel is still making its way through the Knesset to allow compliance with VWP rules.

 

Rwanda is making preparations to welcome children from the UK as part of controversial UK immigration plans. According to a report published by The Guardian, a hostel based in Rwanda’s capital city, Kigali,  is building football pitches and providing outdoor toys for any children flown to the African nation.
