The US Supreme Court is set to allow green card restrictions for immigrants with ‘Temporary Protected Status’ (TPS) who entered America illegally. Justices heard arguments on whether to allow TPS immigrants to apply for lawful permanent residency, but will seemingly block them from access to green cards.

 

Former US President, George W. Bush, has urged Congress to tone down what he describes as the ‘harsh rhetoric’ on US immigration reform. Following the publication of his new book, Out of Many, One: Portraits of America’s Immigrants, Bush described immigration as ‘America’s greatest strength’.

 

British businesses are being warned that UK visa right to work fines have returned. In March, guidance relating to right to work checks was updated by the Home Office. Amid the pandemic, the Home Office didn’t issue any right to work fines for most of 2020. However, in the final quarter of last year, 77 fines were issued.

 

US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, has announced that Ugandans believed to be ‘responsible for, or complicit in, undermining the democratic process in the African country – including the January elections and campaign period – will be denied access to US visas. Ugandan President, Yoweri Museveni, in power since 1986, secured a sixth term in January.

Two judges in the court said that three of Patel’s detention policies violated human rights laws. "Cover ups" happen a lot more than people would like to think.  Governments and public officials do not in many cases want the truth to come out.
