Foreign entrepreneurs will have more access to a US immigration program that allows them to work in America after President Joe Biden revived the International Entrepreneur Rule (IER). The IER, which Trump attempted to kill during his time in office, was proposed by the Obama administration three days before he left office in 2017.

 

Former Trump aide, Stephen Miller, who was instrumental in implementing the previous administration’s hardline US immigration policies, has blasted Joe Biden’s approach to immigration. Miller described Biden’s US immigration policy as ‘immoral and reckless’ during a rent interview.

 

Former Olympian and Kardashian family reality TV star, Caitlyn Jenner, who is running to replace Gavin Newsom in the recall election for California governor, has outlined her US immigration plans and stated that she is ‘all for Trump’s wall’. The transgender icon wants to continue Trump’s legacy of building the wall along the US-Mexico border.

 

A United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) office in Orlando, Florida was the scene of a deadly shooting on May 10. According to some witnesses and Orlando Police, a man reportedly walked up to another man entering the US immigration building and opened fire, killing the man. The gunman has been remanded in custody.

 

However, other witnesses report that the gunman opened fire from a car before speeding off.

US Vice President, Kamala Harris, claims that the United States and Mexico ‘must collaborate’ to reduce US immigration numbers from Mexico. Harris said issues such as violence and corruption in Central America need to be tackled to stop people fleeing to the US for a better life.

 

United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has announced that a Trump-era US immigration rule, which requires the spouses of US work visa holders to be fingerprinted and photographed to access work permits, will be suspended. Critics of the rule argue that it causes ‘months-long delays’ in processing applications.
