A new study claims that the UK visa and immigration is to blame for rising alcohol abuse among refugees. According to the study, poverty, social isolation and boredom among UK refugees and asylum seekers are major contributing factors toward excessive alcohol consumption.

 

With Britain in the grip of a second lockdown amid the coronavirus pandemic, UK visa rules are forcing migrant NHS workers to leave the country, sparking fears of the UK’s response to COVID-19 being hampered. The British government recently refused to automatically extend UK visas for migrant NHS workers serving on the frontline in the fight against the disease.

 

A US district court has ruled that the spouses of H1B visa holders are not entitled to automatic work permit renewals. The ruling relates to H4 visa holders and the renewal of their Employment Authorization Documents (EADs), a program introduced by the Obama administration in 2015.

 

The British government has imposed a UK immigration ban on people from or transiting through Denmark amid a mass coronavirus outbreak in the Scandinavian country. According to an official announcement, all non-UK nationals or resident travellers who have been in or passed through Denmark in the last 14 days will be refused UK entry.

 

The immigration ban comes following a huge spike in coronavirus cases across Denmark’s mink farms. The ban came into force on Saturday 7 November at 4am. 

Despite recently being blocked by a Chicago federal judge, Trump’s controversial US immigration public charge rule is back in effect. The controversial rule has been relaunched as the US appeals court considers a case to suspend it amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

 

UK ministers are being urged by leading charities and the London Mayor to pull the plug on ‘deeply immoral’ immigration plans targeting foreign homeless people.
