In a meeting scheduled for June 2021, the UK’s Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) Committee is set to question Cabinet Office Minister Lord Frost over the UK government’s failure to secure visa-free travel and Europe-wide work permits for UK musicians and their touring crew post-Brexit, according to an NME report.

 

In recent months, the government has come under heavy fire from high-profile artists and prominent producers across the music industry. 

A UK immigration rule, paused for almost a year amid the coronavirus pandemic, will resume with immediate effect. The Home Office is set to restart the process of evicting some asylum seekers from their accommodation, according to an internal document seen by The Guardian. The Home Office broke its own UK immigration rules when deporting Vietnamese migrants, according to a report published by The Guardian. The report claims that six of 14 enforced removals did not spend the minimum of five working days in UK immigration removal prior to boarding a deportation flight, breaching the Home Office’s own rules.

 

The so-called independent Migration Advisory Committee (MAC), which makes recommendations to the government on UK immigration, has issued a call for evidence seeking the views of stakeholders on the operation and effectiveness of the intra-company transfer (ICT) immigration route. The deadline for replies is 15 June 2021.
