Canadian immigrant s will find it quicker in future to have their qualifications assessed. The new Pan-Canadian Framework for the Assessment and Recognition of Foreign Qualifications will mean that Canadian immigrants will find out within one year whether they can be licensed or registered to work in certain fields.

A new greatly expanded study guide for Canadian citizenship was launched recently by Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism Minister Jason Kenney. In particular those taking the Citizenship test from March 2010 onwards should study the Citizenship Guide.

This was announced by Ancaster-Dundas-Flamborough-Westdale MP David Sweet, Hamilton Mountain MPP Sophia Aggelonitis and City of Hamilton Mayor Fred Eisenberger.
